Since her arrival in Los Angeles, she has appeared in soap operas, sitcoms, television dramas and films. Her most recent role was in a Viacom pilot called "Absolutely True" (www.castnet.com to see her resume and acting credits as well as her a visual demo of her work). Angel’s one-woman show, Starting Over, placed in the finals of the playwright division in the 1995 Talent Fest Competition. She is currently working on a rewrite of the show in preparation for an industry showcase in 2001. She is a winner of America’s Funniest People and she has appeared on BET’s Comic View and Show Me the Funny.



Harper is the founder of Smile Productions and produced the comedy showcase, Comedy Flavors. She is active in the Comedians Caucus. (Proverbs 17:22): "A cheerful heat is good medicine." Her comic style has been labeled, "Classy comedy with a cutting edge." She has stepped back from comedy this last year to create a new approach that will be a mixture of her former comedy style and topical and conscious technique.



Harper is an award-winning voice-over performer. She received two consecutive awards (Achievement In Radio Awards) for her outstanding work in the voice-over industry. Her voice versatility ranges from commercials, narrations, ADR work and cartoons such as Rug Rats, Monsters, and Captain Planet, to name a few. Her voice will be heard in Denzel Washington’s new film, Hurricane. Weekdays her comedic voice can be heard on the Tom Joyner Morning Show as Doctor Cotton and Coral in the zany radio soap It’s Your World (www.voicedatabase.com/angelharper). Harper is an active member of WIA (Women in Animation). She is in the process of producing an animation for the 2nd annual Christian Film Festival in June 2001.

In addition, she received an award for Outstanding Achievement from the American Women in Radio and Television for producing the documentary, Due Process of the Law.

Harper is also a writer. Her book, Master the Art of Cold Reading, is available at Barnes & Noble or Samuel French Bookshop (www.coldreading.com). She is planning a book tour to colleges in 2001. Angel is a member of both AFTRA and SAG unions.

Harper is very excited about her latest venture with Behealthylifestyles.com. She is the entertainment health reporter for this new website. Like most actors, Harper has other career interests. She has had a lucrative career in broadcast sales and marketing. She has worked in radio, television, and cable TV. She also is a graduate of The Urban League School of Technology, where she studied computer programming. Currently she is working part-time for Investment Relations for Exchangemall.com.

She is originally from Harlem, in New York City. Her mother was born in Havana, Cuba and raised in Kingston, Jamaica. Her father is from Hookerton, North Carolina. She enjoys her ethnic mix and shares the humor of her heritage with her audience.

Harper graduated from Cornell University, with a Bachelor of Science degree in Radio and Television Production. Following her education, she moved to Washington, D.C. There, she enjoyed success in both broadcast sales and acting. Currently, Angel is single, born again Christian. She attends church at the International Church of Christ in Hollywood, California and she is active with the NAACP in Hollywood.
